Hello!  Welcome to the digital portfolios of graduates of Clark University’s Community, Youth, & Education Studies (CYES) major.  Unlike most majors at Clark, every student in CYES engages in a community engaged and socially transformative research project that we call “Praxis Projects.” They then turn these praxis projects into senior theses.  These become part of their digital portfolios, which are part of their requirements to graduate and complete the program.

Also, as a part of the digital portfolio, students develop their own theories of understanding based on three themes that undergird the CYES major.  These themes are 1) critical theories on social inequity, 2) theories of positionality and identity in a social context and 3) theories of social change.  Each student writes and rewrites their theories of understanding which ideally come to serve as their philosophy for living lives dedicated to greater equity and justice in the world.

Please click the links below to learn about our graduates, read their theses on their praxis projects, and learn from their theories of understanding in the world.
