My name is Sophia Stewart-Chapman. I am a recent graduate of Clark University\u2019s fourth cohort of Community, Youth and Education Studies in 2022. I also minored in Women\u2019s and Gender Studies and had a concentration in Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies \u2013 these three fields of study are deeply interconnected in my life and approach to education. I grew up moving between the Bronx and Harlem in New York City with my younger brother, younger sister, and four wonderful mothers. My love for learning and social justice education has been cultivated by my mothers and step-mothers, all of whom are brilliant educators. It is because of them and the many fantastic teachers in my life that I will be pursuing a master\u2019s degree in elementary education through Clark\u2019s 5th year Masters of Arts in Teaching program.
