Xea Kirkland

Hi! I’m Xea Kirkland and I graduated from Clark in May 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in Community, Youth, and Education Studies. I am originally from Saugerties, NY. I have been working with kids, in some capacity, since I was 16 years old. I have been deeply fascinated by peer-to-peer interactions in classrooms, especially regarding how they ask for and get help in classroom settings. To dive into the question, I worked with a third-grade teacher and her students by observing and creating mini-lessons. I learned so much about classroom dynamics and the important of building community care during this project.
